Whether your Mission is a Comet or Motivation-Tracking is a Necessity

MotivationGetting to a comet from Earth doesn’t happen overnight, but most Earthlings would be fairly pleased with the distance between themselves and the massive objects in our solar system. And if your destination is 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, the trip would take you over seven years. Most scientists would consider the time a worthy investment for the knowledge and discovery of missions like Rosetta. Those involved with the Rosetta mission knew that after the initial launch they would need to be patient while their craft completed its endeavor. They didn’t however simply launch their operation and wait for it to complete its journey like a carrier pigeon; departed and then forgotten until its return.

Rosetta Mission's Trajectory

Rosetta Mission’s Trajectory

The ESA mission control meticulously tracked their probe after launch guiding it through its multiple Earth, Mars and asteroid flybys over years to gain momentum for the voyage into deep space. Here at QIC we follow a similar regime of tracking client program activity (albeit, with a little less rocket science). With a thorough understanding of mission parameters and objectives, we work with our clients to design and implement programs that inspire motivation and positive change.

IncenTrac, our proprietary points-based platform makes tracking program progress and ROI an easy task – no mission control needed!

Some metrics that may be tracked during an incentive program  include:

  • award active percentage
  • period-to-period growth in point issuance, by award indicator (if available)
  • redeem active percentage
  • cumulative redemption rate
  • benchmark comparisons to composite metrics of similar program

Tracking and analyzing program metrics enable clients to achieve a positive return on investment whether they implement a channel sales incentive, safety or employee recognition program. Like the Rosetta mission to Churyumov-Gerasimenko some incentive programs take time to achieve their goals. Tracking the right metrics assures that your program stays on track and provides the best results no matter how ambitious your KPIs (key performance indicators) may be.
